A report stated how 3 different generations perceive Real Estate investment. Let’s look at each of their points of view.

Baby Boomers 🧔 ♂️

Born between 1946 and 1964, baby boomers approach Real Estate investment more conservatively than younger generations. As cautious investors, baby boomers consider Real Estate a safe and stable investment option. Homeownership is the main priority of this group.

Millennials 👦

Born between 1981 and 1996, millennials are a large demographic group increasingly interested in Real Estate investment to build long-term wealth. Today, millennials make up around 43% of all house buyers, more than any other demographic group. Aside from homeownership, this generation is open to alternative Real Estate investment strategies.

Gen Z 👧

This generation was born after 1996. While they may not yet be able to purchase property or make significant Real Estate investments, at the beginning of their career, they do have a roadmap to follow and at least look at short time Real Estate investments like investing in a studio apartment or a 1 BHK and in locations that may be in the city periphery and opening up.

📝 Our Take

Real estate investment allows baby boomers to diversify their portfolios and generate passive income after accumulating enormous wealth over their careers. Baby boomers are more concerned with generating income than building long-term wealth because they have a longer investment horizon. 💫 Besides Physical Real Estate, Millennials invest in REITs and InvITS that allow them to invest in Real Estate and infrastructure assets, respectively, and thus participate in the Real Estate market without directly buying a property. 💸 Gen-Z’s investment decisions are infused with economic advancements and a sense of environmental and social responsibility. As they progress in their careers and accumulate wealth, Gen Z is poised to become a significant force in the world of Real Estate investment. 👩 💻
